Neither us nor the kids wanted to let go, but we had no choice. Little did we realize that time flew as we played with these bubbly kids. The kids made us play catch, hide n’ seek, ghost and the graveyard, passing the parcel & several other ingenious ones they knew! The chirpy ones asked me to carry them around the place, do jazz hands, clap when they sang & danced to “Kolaveri Di” and the also do sit-ups for a game! We spent our time doing all we could, to bring smiles to their faces. The kids got along with us soon & we were drawn into their realm of innocence. As the kids relished their candy bars they started interacting without the initial hesitation. Having collection drives for over a week at my college, we made a significant donation to the orphanage, including notebooks, clothes, toys, stationery, biscuits and of course chocolates! I think the chocolates that we distributed, helped the kids break their barrier of reservation. We visited the orphanage on 21st of Sept 2013, a warm saturday afternoon. The sisters & staff have abnegated themselves to serve these children, and run the little oasis which would have otherwise been forgotten or left behind. I think its important to acknowledge the fact that the people, who are helping these children, pick up the loose threads of life.

They seemed very jubilant & full of life despite very few materialistic pleasures. I was deeply touched by the resilience of the kids living there. The orphanage is run by the Missionaries of Charity, and is a home for abandoned, destitute & special children.

Some of us, who are a part of the NSS from my college ( MSRIT), had the opportunity to share our love for children at Nirmala Shishu Bhavan, Frazer Town, Bangalore. In an interview, Bennington confirmly explained that a music video of this song will be shot. says the song is "certainly bigger and bolder than the majority of the album's songs, but it still doesn't shake you to your core like I wish it would". It was used in a commercial promoting the second season of the NBC show Revolution, following the usage of " Roads Untraveled" in a commercial promoting the first season.īillboard lists "Powerless" as an example "of why Linkin Park remains vital while its nu-metal compatriots have more or less fallen by the wayside". Film director Timur Bekmambetov screened the film for the band, who reacted positively to the film, and believed that the band had a song that would fit into the film hence, "Powerless" was chosen.
